more things to love about the big apple.
- pinkberry. like yami yoghurt, but so much better.
- spotted pig. a bustling little pub in the west village where josh hartnett was spotted. this quaint outlet also serves the world's best mash potatoes and bakes a killer flourless chocolate cake.
- woodbury common. 10 hours later and usd250 poorer, i'm a proud owner of a classy coach wallet (usd40. usd 40!), a pair of swanky g-star pants (usd15. usd15!), a pair of stylish nine west shoes (usd37. usd 37!) and much, much more.
- pride parade. 5 hours of colourful floats playing anthem after gay anthem, drag qreens, cut bodies and butch women sashaying down 5th avenue. freebies including numerous pamphlets and skin care / facial products, 3 condoms, 2 strings of bright plastic beads and a "spank me happy" wooden ruler. amazing.
- nobu. celebrity restaurant which serves fusion japanese food. every single bite contains an explosion of flavours. it's orgasmic.
- brooklyn. the arty neighbourhood with its quaint cafes and shops. the quiet, tree-lined neighbourhood which exudes money and class. the breath-taking skyline of manhattan. brooklyn was a pleasant little surprise.
- east village. this place comes alive at night and is packed to the brim with amazing places to eat, drink and make merry. we started eating at 7.30pm, and stopped only at 12.30am.
- les miserables. there's nothing better than re-watching a favourite classic and realising that it's every bit as good as you remembered it to be.
- organic food markets. so many things to eat. so little stomach space.
- staten island ferry. haven't been on it yet. but i'm sure it's going to be tons of fun!
an update: whilst staten island itself was depressing and boring, the ferry ride across was amazing. i got a panaromic view of downtown manhattan and liberty island where lady liberty resides. the wind, the sun and the sea. i was a very happy girl on that ferry.
