on men's and women's magazines.
conversation at work today:
jcc: my dad received a copy of xx men's magazine the other day. he said it was all rubbish. but i thought it was quite a good read!
me: oh that mag's pretty good innit? lots of interesting articles.
jcc: yup. men's magazines are so much more credible. more intelligent. they actually talk about socio-economic issues and things like that.
me: yah lor yah lor. women's magazines are so fluffy.
jcc: exactly. i mean all they tell you is how to dress to suit your body shape. how to use make-up. how to satisfy your men in bed. quite boring after a while. they don't even have real articles.
me: innit? one over-used article - date rape. i must have read it like 3 times.
jcc: yah! and what about the aunt agony columns? "dear aunt aggy, my boyfriend and i have been together for 3 years, and we really love each other. but he's been coming home recently with the smell of another woman's perfume on him. what should i do?"
me: or or or "dear aunt aggy, my husband and i have been together for 3 years, and we really love each other. but i've been having secret fantasies about his sexy new female colleague. am i a lesbian?"
jcc: "aunt aggy, how can we make our sex life more interesting?"
me: my personal favourite, "dear aunt aggy, my boyfriend has been suggesting a threesome with another woman. is he losing interest in me?"
ly: you all diss women's magazines. but you girls have obviously read enough of them to know what's in them right?
me: *silence* your point being?
men's magazines are the way to go from now on.
